I witnessed a celebrant performing a marriage ceremony from a display book, one of those books with plastic envelopes in it that you insert your printed paper into. Like any good celebrant she was reading from the page, then would read ahead and lift her head to speak to the audience before once again looking down.
In that brief moment where her eyes were not on the book but on the couple, my friends Jason and Amanda, a breeze flipped some pages and took her back towards the start of the ceremony.
She never even noticed. We did. Every single person in earshot knew that we'd gone back to the start. How you can be so out of the moment that you wouldn't notice is beyond me, but here I am writing this to you.
Do everything you can to be present, aware, and relishing the moment you are creating. Don't let the wind double your ceremony length.
